Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools Qualifications are work-based nationally recognised qualifications, designed to benchmark the skills an employee needs to do their job effectively. They offer candidates a qualification in the workplace that relates to their job, and promote good working practice. There is no strict time limit for doing the Certificate, though on average a level 2 takes around nine months to complete,  a Level 3 around ten months. A commitment of around 2 hours a week is required.

The Certificate combines two aspects of learning:

Underpinning knowledge - Covers the theory behind the qualification and is delivered via  combination of workshops, text books and online learning.

Assessment - an employee demonstrating, via their job, that they can apply this knowledge to their role. Continuous assessment will be covered by portfolio building, collection of evidence of carrying out the required tasks detailed in the Certificate, eg. copies of records and witness testimonies
