Pitch perfect is more than a competition. It is a journey....an experience....and a chance to test your thinking, skills and plans. Get through the early rounds and your well on the way to win the fantastic £10k prize package. In addition, it also offers a route to raising additional finance and support as last year’s finalists discovered.
Where are we in the competition so far?
Congratulations to our 20 businesses that have made it through to Stage 3 of Pitch Perfect 2011. Feedback on your audit will be provided over the next couple of weeks. So what’s next? The final 20 are invited to attend the intermediate panel session. The panel will be made up of members of the Tower Hamlets Business Support Team, a Lloyds Commercial Manager and James Buttery of Your Dockland and City Magazine. Business owners will be required to attend at the allotted time slot (see intermediate panel day attachment at the bottom of the page).
The Brief:
The panel will want to hear a pitch for financial investment in order to implement growth and development plans or make business improvements in addition to pitching for the £10k prize fund. For those business owners planning to self finance improvements, growth and developments the panel will want to hear details about this.
Business owners are instructed to:
1. Deliver a 3 min pitch for financial investment.
2. Present a 2 min pitch for the £10k prize fund. No visual aids will be needed.
3. Be prepared to answer questions.
The objective will be to select the final 10 to pitch to our panel. Best of luck!

Pitch Perfect, the business competition run by Tower Hamlets College Business Support Unit reached a climax on 15 February 2011. The award ceremony at the stunning East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf saw all 9 finalists, partners and guests come together to celebrate effort, achievement and success.
The competition attracted considerable interest and a high calibre of entries. Last December the shortlisted finalists pitched to the panel, made up of Richie Coulson of Lloyds Bank PLC, Paul Gregory, Managing Director of Your Docklands and City Magazine and Ian Mistlin, Business adviser at Tower Hamlets College. Each finalist gave an overview of their business and how they would use the £5,000 prize fund - made up of £1,500 in cash from Lloyds TSB Commercial and £3,500 of advertising across the Your Media London group of magazines, to grow their business.
‘Selecting a winner was hard due to the high standard of presentations’, said Paul Gregory. ‘I was looking for the business owner who demonstrated strategic awareness and plans for future expansion.” Richie Coulson commented, ‘I was very impressed with all the pitches and the presenters’ knowledge of their material’.
After recognition for all finalists, the winner of the competition was announced…. Sejuiced, a branding and promotions business headed by Sylvia Garvin, won the honours.
